Craft beer comes in all shapes and sizes: from the growing craft beer canning movement to craft beer container battles raging in states like Florida, where craft brewers are fighting for their right to sell growlers. In Connecticut, however, lawmakers are considering a bill that allows beer and malt beverages to be sold in pouches.
That’s right — pouches. Hudson Valley News reported that the legislation was passed by the Connecticut House of Representatives on a 120-25 vote yesterday, and it is moving to the Senate.
Pouches? According to Fox News, these are pouches that are used for products such as sauces and juices. One of the major arguments against the pouches is that they are not recyclable and go against the state’s environmental efforts. Connecticut’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection is opposing the bill.
