Ledge Brewing Co. has been acquired by longtime bartender and general manager Matty Burkett. The transaction keeps ownership local and hands control to someone already running day-to-day operations. We think that’s a pretty cool transition. The brewery will continue operating under the Ledge Brewing Co. name with the existing staff and leadership team in place. The sale does not involve a rebrand or relocation. Brewing operations, food service, and events continue without interruption. The deal positions Ledge as an independently owned brewery led by an internal operator rather than outside investors. From the press release:
“Ledge Brewing Company has always been a gathering place for friends, families, and craft beer lovers,” said Burkett. “My goal is to honor that tradition while bringing fresh energy and new ideas that make the brewery an even stronger part of our local community. We’re committed to maintaining what people already love about Ledge, and building on it.”
What changes under new ownership
The new owner plans incremental updates rather than structural shifts. Planned improvements include taproom upgrades, expanded outdoor seating and more private event use of the space. The brewery also intends to continue its involvement with local outdoor and community groups across the Mount Washington Valley. Staff continuity remains a priority. The head brewer, general manager and kitchen leadership all remain in place. Brewing volumes and small-batch production focus stay the same.
Background on Ledge Brewing

Ledge Brewing Co. opened in 2020 in Intervale, New Hampshire, near North Conway. The brewery operates a 3-barrel brewhouse and focuses on frequent tap rotation rather than large-scale production. The business combines a brewery, tasting room and on-site taco restaurant under one roof. The brewery sits in the Mount Washington Valley, a year-round outdoor destination. That location shapes the customer mix, which includes locals, seasonal workers and visiting tourists.
The local taproom experience
Ledge operates primarily as an on-premise brewery. The taproom functions as a community gathering spot with live music, themed nights and private events. Ski industry nights run during winter months. The space also hosts local business events and celebrations. Food plays a central role in the experience. The Ledge Taco Bar opened in 2023 and operates alongside the taproom. The kitchen focuses on tacos and house-made sauces, including sauces made with beer from the brewery.
Brewing system and production approach

Ledge brews on a 3-barrel system. The brewery produces a wide range of styles, including IPAs, lagers, stouts, sours and seasonal lagers. Recent tap lists have included:
- New England IPA and West Coast IPA styles
- American light lager and pale ale
- Coffee stout and Rauchbock
- Gose, Märzen and session IPA
- House-brewed hard seltzer and cider
Alcohol-free beer, wine and non-alcoholic seltzer are also available in the taproom.
How the sale fits the business model
Ledge Brewing Co. enters 2026 with familiar faces, local ownership and a business model rooted in on-premise beer and food. The transition keeps control inside the brewery while preserving the small-batch approach that built its following. Craft Brewing Business wishes the Ledge team and its new ownership success as the brewery moves into its next chapter in the year ahead.
