Ingredient insight: Sierra Nevada shows off distilled hop oil

Last month, Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. teased three all new beers. Now, the brewery is tapping the power of YouTube to show off the key ingredient in its Hop Hunter IPA. As the video shows, the wet hops steam is distilled in the hop field, minutes after harvest. Sierra Nevada’s goal is to bring that wet-hopped flavor to its year-round IPA offering. Wet hopping is a growing trend among craft brewers as they continue to brew innovative beers to capture the savvy craft beer drinker. What do you think about the wet hop craze and Sierra Nevada’s approach? Sound off in the comments below.
