Tröegs Brewing Co. served up its first pint (a Tröegs Pale Ale) on July 18, 1997, in Harrisburg, Pa. That’s just a middle chapter in the Tröegs tale, which is one of those great American craft beer classics (after watching the video above, check out more history over here). Let’s do a real quick recap: Two brothers, would-be entrepreneurs since childhood, become obsessed with the growing craft culture of the ’90s, go their separate ways, work tough entry-level brewing jobs or travel to Europe for brewing school and finally return home to Central Pennsylvania and start maybe Pennsylvania’s best brewery. Those two brothers are Chris and John Trogner. Damn it. We did it no justice. Just watch their story above.
