Starbucks to focus on beer sales in 2015

Starbucks to sell craft beer
Move over, beans. Some hops and barley coming your way.

Big Coffee might be another market touchpoint for some regional craft breweries starting in 2015. Starbucks has been selling beer and wine at select locations for awhile now, but the company just announced that it is dedicated to ramping up that focus and debuting a beer and wine program at 3,000 additional locations as part of its “Starbucks Evenings” program that includes an expanded food menu as well.

There aren’t many details just yet on what type of beer will be available, but it’s tough to see a boutique-y, experience-oriented brand like Starbucks stocking the shelves with Budweiser.

Speaking of Budweiser, did you see that its U.S. sales are now behind craft beer sales? Figured we’d mention that again.
