Remember when Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper (co-founder of Wynkoop Brewing Co. in Denver) played President Obama in pool? And he totally lost, but then after Hickenlooper was all cool and said of course I didn’t lose on purpose (which means he totally did). Anyways, for some time the images and videos from that encounter have been used against Hickenlooper (a Democrat) in his race with Republican contender Bob Beauprez. The Republican Governors Association has used that game of pool as a thematic thread in its TV ads against the beer-loving governor (see one below). Well, longtime beer journalist and promoter Marty Jones took umbrage. Jones debuted his brand new The Brew Night Show last week in conjunction with the Great American Beer Festival in Denver. Jones calls the show “America’s first beer-focused talk and variety show,” and here is an example: A pull-no-punches campaign ad, which sheds light on Hickenlooper’s impressive track record as Governor and lover of Colorado beer.
