Sixth annual celebration unites 175+ events, cideries, and fans from coast to coast

It’s officially cider season, and 2025 marks a major milestone: National Cider Month has grown into North America’s largest celebration of cidermaking craft, creativity, and community. What started six years ago as a regional push from Schilling Cider is now a binational bash, with a 53% increase in cidery participation and more than 175 cider-themed events taking place throughout the U.S. and Canada this October.
“National Cider Month is a celebration of community and the incredible creativity within this industry,” said Colin Schilling, CEO and Co-Founder of Schilling Cider. “As we mark the sixth National Cider Month, we continue to champion cidermakers nationwide and elevate the craft through events, education, and shared experiences that invite everyone to discover the flavors and stories behind every pour.”
New this year, cideries and fans are encouraged to celebrate locally—by visiting tasting rooms, attending educational classes, or simply picking up a six-pack from their favorite orchard-to-can cider brand. Participating events will highlight everything from innovative fermentation techniques to regional apple varieties and sustainable farming practices.
The movement is also backed by a wide swath of industry trade groups, including the American Cider Association (ACA), Cider Canada, and regional guilds across the Midwest and Pacific Northwest. “As cider continues to surge in popularity, this month provides a meaningful moment to showcase the depth of talent and diversity within the cider industry,” added ACA CEO Monica Cohen.
