The Allagash Bungalow, the new tasting room from award-winning, Maine-based Allagash Brewing Company, is set to open at 10 Market Street in Scarborough, ME on August 2nd. Housed at The Downs, The Bungalow will offer unique programming, exclusive drinks — including house-made wine and cocktails—as well as the award-winning beers Allagash is known for. In addition, guests will find an all-new menu from the celebrated team at Bite Into Maine, including both classic and internationally inspired lobster rolls, a Lobster BLT, a Smash Burger on brioche, crinkle cut Fries and more.
“With The Bungalow, we wanted to branch out from what you typically expect from a brewery,” said Emily Wallace, Hospitality Director at Allagash. “We’re making sure there’s something for everyone – including more options than ever for people who don’t drink beer. It has been really fun to see our pilot team flex their creativity to introduce these new offerings for the new space.”
The concept, interior, and exterior design have been created in conjunction with Mey & Co, whose team has worked on well-known Portland restaurants like Bar Futo, Mr. Tuna, Bread + Friends, Ramona’s, and more. The name “The Bungalow’ is a nod to its Scarborough location’s proximity to Maine’s beaches, as well as the team’s intention to have the new tasting room serve as a community gathering hub.
“Above all else, we wanted the space to feel approachable,” added Wallace. “The name ‘The Bungalow’ also reflects this in a way that feels welcoming, but also will be something that we’re planning to deliver on with a stellar guest experience.”
Allagash’s second location has been highly anticipated since 2022 when the brewery first announced it would be coming to The Downs, Maine’s largest mixed-use development project located in the heart of Scarborough.
