Craft Brewing Business Menu

We’re constantly blown away by how New Belgium Brewing creates business culture and engages its employees

We’ve complained about this before: Sometimes we get bored of New Belgium Brewing Co. being so awesome. The company’s business acumen and ability to make great beer always seem to be over matched by New Belgium’s commitment to ethics and culture. Here are just a few examples: 1) employee owned, 2) awarded “Best place to work for millennials,” 3) WorldBlu certified “Freedom-Centered Workplace,” 4) a B Corp “Best for the Environment” 5) one of Outside’s Best Places to Work; 6) one zillion philanthropy projects; 7) its digital team received “genius” status; 8) Ok, you get the point.

New Belgium is our ultimate, fantasy model for a craft brewery: Treat your employees as importantly as the product and profits. Just watch this video above about a recent New Belgium employee retreat; New Belgium released three other similar videos in honor of its East Coast Asheville operation last week. The one above focuses on employee ownership, training, education, culture and a general sense of inspiration that people feel working for New Belgium.

Watch the wow moments

  1. Co-founder Kim Jordan hand-makes “mojo” celebratory bracelets for employees on their year anniversaries (they also get a free, fat-tired bike).
  2. A New Belgium employee getting on stage and telling the story of how she was homeless before working at New Belgium.

No joke: New Belgium is the best.
