Hold on to your butts: Beer Institute releases domestic tax paid estimate for July 2015

beer barrels in a jumble pileThe Beer Institute just sounds like a place of higher learning. It is. It’s one of the top national trade associations for the American brewing industry, representing both large and small brewers, and it’s a great resource for the serious business of brewing. Take taxes, for instance. You loathe them, but you must also know them. Luckily, the Beer Institute just published an unofficial estimate of domestic tax paid shipments by beer brewers (props, guys).

The July 2015 domestic tax paid estimate is 16,024,000 barrels (bbls). July 2014 removals were 16,335,000 (revised) for a decrease of 1.9 percent. Please note that the estimates below for January through May of both 2014 and 2015 reflect revised estimates released by the TTB earlier this month. The August 2015 domestic tax paid estimate will be released on Thursday, Sept. 24 (mark it).
