Warped Wing Brewing Co. has entered the non-alcoholic space for the first time. The Dayton brewery launched Zero Altitude IPA last week as a taproom-exclusive release, available now at all Warped Wing locations. The beer arrives ahead of the holiday season and Dry January, giving guests a new way to enjoy the taproom experience without alcohol. From the press release:

“Stick to the plan & hit cruise control with Zero Altitude IPA,” reads the can. “A full-flavor IPA with bright hop aroma & smooth drinkability. All the hop character you love — just lighter in lift. Zero altitude. Maximum flavor. No turbulence.”

Zero Altitude IPA contains less than 0.5% ABV and is pasteurized for shelf stability. The brewery designed the beer to deliver bright hop aroma and smooth drinkability, mirroring the balance that regular IPA drinkers expect from the brand. Warped Wing plans to offer the beer on draft and in 6-pack cans to go, focusing first on taproom access before exploring distribution. Zero Altitude IPA also anchors a new Zero Altitude series, which will highlight low- and no-alcohol innovations for guests who want to take part in brewery culture while staying alcohol-free. The brewery already offers housemade sodas, floats, mocktails, and Dirty Sodas at its Dayton location. This release expands those options.

NA beer gains momentum heading into 2026

Zero Altitude IPA lands at a moment when non-alcoholic beer is one of craft beer’s brightest categories. The segment continues to post strong, consistent growth. Beer Institute data from the summer showed NA beer up 22.2% year-to-date in 2025 and up 16.4% over the past 12 months. Summer remains a peak season, with July 2024 surging more than 30% year over year. On-premise demand is accelerating too. Bars and restaurants posted a 26.4% jump in NA beer sales this year, building on a 22% bump in 2024. The channel still trails retail in total volume, but the gap is tightening.

Younger drinkers lead the shift

Gen Z and Millennials continue to reshape the category. Beer Institute research showed that 61% of younger legal-age consumers are open to NA versions of their favorite beer. More than half say they would stay longer at bars and restaurants with solid alcohol-free offerings. Health, wellness, and affordability drive most decisions. YouGov’s 2024 CategoryView study found that one in three Americans drank less alcohol last year, and 27% of 21- to 29-year-olds drink NA beverages weekly. Many are motivated by avoiding hangovers or cutting costs, but they still want full-flavor beer experiences.

What this means for craft breweries

Non-alcoholic beer offers clear upside. The consumer base is growing. Younger drinkers expect alcohol-free options. On-premise accounts need high-quality NA beer to keep guests on site. And many breweries can develop a non-alcoholic variant of a known brand without major risk. Taproom-first releases like Zero Altitude IPA also allow small-scale testing before scaling up. Guests can taste and react in real time. Breweries can refine recipes without committing to broad distribution.
